Placer Team in Roseville for 13.25 mile Timed event 4-10-10
Well, we were out there this weekend doing some major running through Roseville. The full marathon team completed 13.25 miles, while the half marathon team completed I believe 8 miles. For many on the team they did not ever think they could complete the miles we are putting in these days, but they are doing it every week. For me I am trying to get to the point to finish my marathon in less than 3.5 hours. I took a big step this weekend by finishing my time trial in 1 hr 45 min. I am not to the point of my goal but I am very close. As the runs get longer and harder each week I will need to continue to keep my times down and most of all run smart. Finishing long miles on track to meet my goal will take me thinking about how best to run the miles ahead saving the most energy for the miles in not out. They call this a negative split. That is when I run the second half of my run faster then the first half. I will gain speed with speed work and hills. Long runs will need to be saved for race preparation. Mental preparation for how I will run the actual event. The good thing is I have an excellant coach. He is preparing me well and June 6, 2010 in San Diego I will make practice perfect. Well, as you might know I am running this for The Leukema and Lymphoma Society. I have committed to raise $3000 dollars for their foundation. Any amount helps toward my goal and is much appreciated. If you want to donate follow the link to my donation page below or call me at 916-342-3212 and I can make arrangements for a donation. I also have some fundraiser you could support. Until next time see ya out there.
