Welcome to the official newspaper of the Eureka Union School District.

Last I checked, there were 4 school districts in the circulation area of this paper, but you wouldn't know it from reading the Press Tribune. Looking at the last 20 stories under the News/Education tab we find:

"Why should you send your child to Eureka Union schools?", "Eureka to dip into reserves to save eight teachers", "EUSD approves additional $1.7 million in district-wide cuts", "EUSD Superintendent Tim McCarty to request salary decrease", "Register those kindergartners", "Nickels and dimes add up to hope for Haiti", "Secret raise ignites anger", "Eureka School district keeping education whole despite state's growing hole", "Reading, writing and robotics", "Eureka district lands three schools on Honor Roll."

For those keeping score at home, that's 10 stories on Eureka USD, 2 on Sierra College, 3 on individual schools in the Roseville City School District and 5 stories unrelated to local schools.

If I were the Rocklin district I would be especially angry. On the same page that their PAID ADVERTISEMENT was placed was the 'story' "Why should you send your child to Eureka Union schools?"

I know budget times are hard, but I missed the notice where the PT had volunteered to take over the district newsletter.
