The City of Roseville — Parks and Recreation Commission and staff — along with the entire city council, honored the Roseville Host Lions Club for their fundraising and financial support of the newly opened Project Play at Mahaney Park at a dedication on June 25. The universally accessible playground “provides a truly barrier-free play for all visitors, regardless of physical ability level.”
The Phase 1 dedication is the “butterfly playground” with rubberized surfacing, and wide walkways/ramps. “Rich with tactile and auditory elements to entertain the senses,” it includes: hollow logs, ladybug land, water mountain, and the ugly bug garden.
Roseville Host Lions helped raise $10,000 in past crab feed efforts to help fund the city effort which will include a 2nd and 3rd phase before it is finished behind the Martha Riley Library.
